MY SUMMER BEAUTY EMERGENCY KIT

Hello ladies! I'm sorry that it's been a minute {again} since I got around to blogging {even though I promised that I wouldn't let weeks go by anymore…oops} but there's been lots of awesome changes going on since the start of '16…

Among them: the new and improved Omi b. design!! {which I am super excited about since I did quite a bit of it myself !!Speaking of 2016— can you believe that it's almost summer?!

Even though we've been getting our classic "June Gloom" these past couple of weeks it's going to start burning off {and heating up} before much longer.

The babes will be out of school and finally beach days and pool time will commence! It'll be a welcomed treat! {since I've felt like such a shut-in lately.} But, as excited as I am for the heat, I also know that I have to be prepared for the beauty faux pas that will result from me getting too much sun! That's why I've compiled a list of absolute essentials to share with you all.

For salty hair and skin in need of some love I always make sure that I have these stocked in my vanity drawer. They're all must-haves — especially my facial masks! I have a few faves as far as sheet masks go, but I seem to keep going back to SkinLaundry's Hydrating Radiance sheet masks. They're affordable and they come with a lot of excess product in each packet. So with whatever's left over you can grab a cotton ball and apply it to your neck/chest/arms, wherever! Any spot of your body that  is dehydrated can benefit from this stuff! Body Therapy by PCA {I know—me and my PCA, yawn} is a great everyday moisturizer during the summer months. I wear it at night only though since it has a high concentration of lactic acid! Unless you're wearing a sunscreen on every exposed area of your body daily {which I know most of you don't….tsk tsk} then you can burn too easily if you wear it during the day….

 I love how active it feels when you first put it on! You can really feel the exfoliation….& I like knowing that things are putting in the werrrk!

If you've never used Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3 before then I'm really, really sorry….and I think that you should make your life less sad. {Lord knows my life would be sad without it.} Chemically treated hair {especially if you're blonde} really takes a beating in sunlight, chlorine, and salt water. But you don't have to spend the next 3 months with crazy split ends and scarecrow hair if you have this stuff! It's a deep conditioning mask that you apply once a week before you shower. { Unless you're me—in which case you use it 4-5 times because you have serious impulse control problems….and you're wasteful. }

I usually comb it from roots to ends about a half hour before I hop in and just keep it in a bun while I putz around doing things here and there. All you do is rinse it out and then shampoo and condition like normal…. after a couple of uses you really see a difference in manageability.

Of course if you can't beat 'em, join 'em….  I keep a texturizing salt spray handy for those days when I'm just too lazy to do a lick of work to my hair. {…this stuff is used a lot, yes} I've used just about every product under the sun and love them all, but for price purposes, this one by Not Your Mother's is actually really great. I also appreciate beauty items that I can pick up on Target runs….since I'm there like, everyday.

Salt sprays are my preference to texturizing creams— that's just a personal thing— but I have fairly fine hair….which, if you have fine hair, you'll do better with a spray too. {Creams are just too heavy for mine and I don't love that "i don't bathe" look} Again….totally personal.

Then {if you can spot it} there's Josie Maran Argan Milk: a great alternative to a nighttime moisturizer when you're spending a lot of time outdoors and it's perfect for every skin type. Oily girls might not be in love with the feeling of it at first but don't worry….it won't make you breakout…it just takes a little bit of time to adjust to. I say "nighttime" because it's a bit too emollient to wear under makeup and since it has Argan oil in it, it could potentially breakdown your daily sunscreen. So I keep it strictly to before bed. And I usually only wear it maybe once or twice a week. Unless you have really dry skin types then you really don't need much more than that. If you DO have dry skin— Argan Milk it up !!! You'll love the consistency. {I have a lot of clients on the dry-side who rave about it and wear it religiously…}

Since we walk around barefoot a lot on hot pavement/sand i'll be doing another round-up of essentials soon….and there'll be some hand and feet savers in there for sure!! For now….it's Chucks all day, everyday. {Plus i'm clearly having fun playing with my new digital camera!}

Leave me any questions or comments in the box to the right {….awesome, now I'll be humming Beyonce all night} and let me know what your must-have summer beauty products are!! I'm always on the hunt for new reviews. And don't forget to follow me on Snapchat {@jkilla5} to see daily tips and tricks that don't make their way here to the blogosphere….I seriously LOVE that feature of Snapchat….being able to take shots of random things throughout my day works wonders for someone as ADD as I am.

Hope you're all having a wonderful Saturday!!

❤︎,
