‣‣ Festival-Ready Skin ‣‣

It's finally time to gather all of those final touches for this weekend! We've covered outfits, makeup, and jewelry so far— as far as hair it's every man for himself out in the desert as far as I'm concerned, LOL— and tonight I'm gonna cover just a few of my favorite essentials that get me (and hopefully, now, you too) through the 3-day festival looking as fresh as a daisy (despite the fact that in reality, i'm melting.)

While you're out there there are 3 main things that you want to do for your skin to keep it in prime shape, those are: EXFOLIATE, HYDRATE, AND PROTECT!!

The reason: exfoliation will keep your skin smooth and glowing; plus for all you oily or breakout prone skin types, it'll be your secret weapon to warding off any sweat induced congestion in the pores! Hydration is going to help to keep your skin balanced in the intense heat— important for everyone, however, again for you breakout prone types— skin might initially trick you into thinking that the heat is clearing your acne, but in reality it's upsetting the p.H. and all that's gonna do is trigger MORE ACNE. (Do yourself a favor and don't test this theory….trust me, I've already made that mistake for you about 500 times…it's H-E-L-L!) And lastly, protection is probably an obvious one: it's hot! You're in direct sunlight for most of the day. You WILL burn. It WILL suck….

MY TOP RECOMMENDATIONS:

Heaven + Urth "Clean Sweep" Papaya Enzyme Polish:

Fruit acids like the ones found in this enzyme exfoliant are perfect options for gentle-yet-effective exfoliation. I use it daily (with the occasional break in between when I need it) to help keep my skin clear and flake free.

It smells amazing and it even has the bonus benefit of subbing as a 3-5 minute "Mini-Masque" for those times when you have bumpiness to the touch or are noticing lackluster skin. You just rub on in circular motions for 30 seconds; let dry completely and rinse. You can check out the full line HERE to find other botanical-based skincare.

PCA Skin: ReBalance

I've mentioned this line before but it's worth mentioning again….primarily because they're my favorite. No matter how many skincare lines I try (which is all of them) I always end up coming back "home" to my PCA ReBalance.

Whether you're normal-dry, or oily, or sensitive, this moisturizer does a pretty damn good job treating them all. It absorbs like a dream so you never feel like you have lotion on— but you'll stay hydrated
round the clock.

PCA Skin: Weightless SPF 45

More PCA ;) …I told you— i'm obsessed. I have yet to find an SPF that can top this one as far as matte finish and (true to the name) weightlessness.

I loathe the feeling of an SPF and unfortunately can't get around the fact that I need one. This is like wearing nothing at all and oddly enough even makes my skin look BETTER somehow…like it's glowing.

As you can tell, I got my whole collection together and my brand new SPF in the mail yesterday, so I am ready to go!

These are just my personal suggestions….keep in mind that they might not be best suited for everyone (I admit, I speak on behalf of the breakout prone) so if you have a product (or products) that you recommend for dry skin, I'd love to know, what are they?

I'd love a little bit of insight into what drier and more sensitive skin types are purchasing and why they're your favorites!!

Goodnight everyone!
