DIY | spa treatment at home

Want to have spa-worthy skin from the comfort of your own home? With these simple ingredients you can turn your shower into a spa for the day, saving a lot of money and time. Here's how...

What you'll need:

1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup course sea salt
1/4 cup olive oil
tea tree or lavender oil (available at health food stores)

Mix all of the ingredients together (you may add more sugar if the consistency is too runny) there is no "perfect recipe" for this, so don't worry if you have to play around a bit to get it to a "scrub" consistency... you want the oil to coat the granules enough to spread without crumbling.

To use:

After making your scrub in a small bowl you'll apply this mixture to dry skin. It's best to do while standing in the shower so that you don't make a mess all over your floor. Using small circles just apply and rub all over the skin, spending about a 2-3 minutes for the entire body, then rinse with warm water and soap. THAT'S IT!

It's as simple as that! When you get out of the shower and towel dry apply a hydrating lotion to seal in all that new moisture. If you have oilier skin or get acne anywhere on your body using the tea tree oil will ensure that your pores stay clear :) You can use this treatment up to 3 times a week to help keep skin super soft! Just make sure that if you're going to be in the sun after doing this that you wear a sunscreen of at least spf30 and reapply frequently!!

Have a happy indian summer!!
